"Yoga is the perfect opportunity to discover who you are." ~ Jason Crandall

My Story:

Picture
I grew up traveling and moving, which has influenced my passion for visiting exotic places and taking long trips just for the thrill and excitement of being in a new place, culture, or surroundings. In my youth, I lived in the cold of North Dakota to the tropical delights of Micronesia and Palau. I learned that change is inevitable and I learned to appreciate it. Along the way I also became keenly aware of the importance of connecting with others. With the ups and downs that came with moving from familiar to unfamiliar over and over I adopted the ideology that life is full of choices and sometimes the choice is simply to choose gratitude. This lesson hit home for me in my early 20's when I began to experience chronic pain from fibromyalgia. Finding it hard to cope with the  intensity and immobility of the pain, depression developed and I found it hard to function. At this time in my life I was in a state of survival that lasted for many years. The routine during this dark time consisted of me going to the doctor and coming home with the latest and greatest medication to try. None of it truly helped me go from surviving to thriving. I literally felt like my body had betrayed me and it was hopeless for me to wish for something better. I was so grateful to discover yoga and meditation. As I practiced weekly and progressed to several days a week, I began to breathe more fully again. It was the first ray of hope I felt in a long time. I noticed that I had to be mindful with the type of yoga I practiced, some classes left me invigorated, others drained and sore. I wanted to learn more, so I attended a teacher training. It was amazing! Yoga was so much more than breathing and movement. There was a vast history of where yoga came from, the science behind it, and the artful way it is taught. I was blown away to learn how vast yoga is. There are many approaches, styles and attitudes. Slowly, as I began to practice and learn more and more, my self-awareness grew.  Each day my body and mind influenced the approach I took to my yoga practice. I began to grow both physically and spiritually. I learned when I could attend more challenging classes and when to turn to a restorative or gentle yoga class.
My next natural progression has been with sound healing. I remember my first
live experience with a crystal bowl. I was drawn into a magical spiraling wave of
sound. It was a beautiful journey of such calm inspiration that gave me hope to heal areas within myself where yoga had not. I began my training with Sound Healing Academy and the purchase of 7 crystal alchemy bowls from Crystal Tones. My instrument collection has grown and currently includes Tibetan bowls, tuning forks, gong, drums, shakers and more!
With Sound, there are certain frequencies that promote the natural healing of your body. I have witnessed first-hand profound transformations in my clients. For those that have struggled with yoga and meditation, sound healing offers a simple yet invaluable way to health and wellness. I wish to share this gift with the world one person at a time.
I invite you to join me as I share the gift of mindful movement combined with the
energetic frequencies and vibrational energy of sound healing. For me it is an
ongoing journey of exploration, like a new continent, village, town, or mountain I
have yet to explore more fully.
I hope to be a guide and support for you on your journey to wellness.
